IRTG PhD students from different disciplines, such as infection biology, theoretical biology, bioinformatics, biophysics, and medicine, can flexibly tailor both mandatory and elective program elements to fit their project needs. Delivery of program elements relies on an online network that fosters sharing and discussion of digital lectures offered by the two geographically distant universities.
The IRTG draws further input from its membership as a Graduate School of the Integrative Research Institute (IRI) for the Life Sciences at the Humboldt-Universität Berlin, under the aegis of the Humboldt Graduate School (HGS).
