Thursday morning seminars:

  • PI lecture series (PILS)
    Students, biweekly, every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at 8 am/6 pm, via zoom for the time being
    PI members give IRTG students an overview of the research and methodologies done in their labs
  • Scientific Thinking: Malaria by the numbers (SciThi)
    Students and PIs, monthly, every 2nd Thursday of the month at 8 am/6 pm, via zoom for the time being
  • Berlin Malaria Seminar Series (BMSS)
    Students and PIs, monthly, every 4th Thursday, 8 am/6 pm, via zoom for the time being
    International malaria scientists invited by IRTG members present their research

HUB events: Tuesday afternoon

  • Status report meetings
    Students and PIs (HUB only), monthly, every 4th Thursday of the month at 4:30 p.m. (presence with snacks and drinks or via zoom)
    Informal get-together to discuss/exchange on recent progress of projects and to get instant input from faculty and students
  • Student’s Journal Club (JC) 
    Students (HUB only), biweekly, every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

    Self-organized literature seminar to discuss relevant literature and to relate it to own project
  • LAP – Life after PhD Seminar series (LAP)
    All IRI-LS students, bimonthly, every 3rd Tuesday of the month, 4:30 p.m. (via zoom for the time being, usually at IRI-LS, Maud-Menten-Hall)

    Invited guest speakers from outside academia who share their career paths with PhD students

  • Steering Committee meeting (SC)
    Quarterly, 2nd Tuesday (i.e. 2020: 8th Dec 2020 and 2021 9th Feb, 11th May, 14th Sept, 14th Dec)
  • Subgroup meetings
    Individual planning of each subgroup, initiated by the students

Discussing individual projects for the renewal proposal (15 min/project)
